A few random tidbits from my day…
I’ve dropped two random love letters in the past two days, and those things are harder to leave places without people seeing you than you’d think. Here’s hoping someone actually read them instead of throwing them away.
I went to the gym tonight (go me!), and I observed two things of note: I’m guessing this is not a common occurrence in the men’s locker room, and Sean has affirmed this for me – when I got back to my locker and tried to set my stuff on the benches that are there for that purpose, I found a wee obstacle. Two young women had decided to hang out (fully clothed, I might add) and discuss whatever the latest reality show craze is on the benches in the locker room instead of on the million-and-one comfy chairs or benches elsewhere in the club. And despite the fact that I didn’t have any place to set my gym bag thanks to them being there, they felt it was okay to keep hanging out there until three other women came into that same area. I guess it finally occurred to them that maybe they were inconveniencing the rest of us.
On my way out of the gym, I passed a guy in full UPS uniform just heading in. I have now lost all rational for not going to work out – if that dude can go after a day of slinging packages, I can certainly go after sitting on my ass all day working at a computer.
Shortly after Aedan was born, Sean set up a gmail account for him through which we sent each other entertaining messages pretending to be Aedan (we’re easily amused). Recently, Aedan was asking to type on Sean’s old iPad, so we rejuvenated the email account and let him start sending emails. His email to his grandparents tonight:
I have been watching ultimate spiderman. How do you feel? I feel coled! love, Aedan
He’s nothing if not succinct.
He also begged to call his best friend because he had some questions for him. His side of the conversation went like this:
Mikahl, I have three questions I need you to answer. The first one is, what’s your favorite food?
Okay, next, who is the president? Hey! I know you had to ask your mom to answer that one!
The third question is when you were playing on the computer at school today, what were you playing?
Okay, that’s all I needed to know.
Welcome to first grade phone conversations.
How did you spend your Wednesday?
